BEORLINGS

Beorlings are a druidic race, they live in fortresses made of wood and stone but they are not reliant on those since they can survive in the woods without any housing at all. They see nature as their god and value all life as well as their lifecycles and souls, because of that they would never hunt for fun but instead only take what they need to survive. They are not practicing agriculture and stockbreeding and fully live from whatever nature is giving them.

Physiology

Male Beorlings look like very tall and muscular Humans, this paired with their fur patches and natural clothing lead to them being confused with bears. Most male Beorlings are around 2.5-3 meters tall while females only reach 2-2.5 meters of height. The female Beorlings look slim and have less fur patches than the males, with their stature looking more like a humanoid fox, an animal that existed on the old human earth, they are almost always misjudged in view of their speed and strength.

Beorlings barely age and usually reach the age of 500 years before they start weakening and after that they usually survive at least the same amount of time on wits and experience. This leads to them usually reaching an age of 1000 years before they die and that usually in combat and not in a cozy home. Their strength and ability of regeneration are unrivaled by any other Pact race and while Ironides can survive more attacks Beorlings will still match with their strength.

Society

Beorlings are very discipline focused, eating only in the morning and evening and training or hunting the rest of the day. Simple Tasks like building or creating clothing are always done by the Beorling who has a need for it, this is because of Beorlings thinking that one who cannot fulfill his own needs does not deserve to live in a world as savage as theirs. Every Beorling, even the young ones, is trained in different forms of combat and nobody who met a Beorling will dare to talk badly about them.

Beorlings are lead by their oldest existing male and female and their chosen mates, this ensures that all their wisdom guides them into the correct ways. While a war is fought all Beorlings follow the chosen leader, this is usually the strongest one and the normal heads of their species will help him with strategy and knowledge.

Politics

Beorlings were one of the two races which created the Pact, before that they kept to themselves and did not care for the other species on the planet. Since they joined they are mainly doing very taxing tasks and protecting the cities of the Pact.

History

Beorlings remember their old world, a place so dangerous that they were at the lower end of the scale and had to fight every minute of every day to just barely survive, and while this world has dangers on its own they now are not the weakest anymore, giving them hope and an almost positive outlook on their future. Most things about their old-world are told in legends as the Beorlings had no use for books and usually keep their knowledge through stories and the elder ones.

Their oldest legend tells of a tale of a bear which protected a fox from another creature and after both did not accept their fate and fought together against an unbeatable foe they impressed nature and were blessed with their new form, thus the first Beorlings were created.

Science

While Beorlings don't possess science as other races know it, they still turned the way of defeating stronger foes in a science of their own. They are masters in creating traps and poisons and they use that knowledge to weaken or disrupt any enemy who could endanger the Pact.

Magic

Beorlings are not able to use magic or be affected by it and because of that they need to rely on herbs and their natural regeneration to tend to wounds. Their magic immunity enables them to fulfill tasks other Pact races could never survive. Beorlings possess the ability to understand any trait of wildlife and how to counter or mimic it, while they themselves say it is a skill, some other races disagree and call it magic.

Buildings

Beorlings used to live in caves and tents, always on the Run, this was because of their old-world making it impossible to have enough time to actually build something without dying to never-ending attacks. After they created the Pact and met the Ironides they learned to create fortresses of stone and wood and started living in those Pact locations created by them and the Ironides.

Craftsmanship and Trade

Beorlings are masters in the creation of traps and baits of all kinds, furthermore they are able to create special melee and range weapons only their kind can use, this is because most of these weapons are to heavy or big for the other races. A usual Bow a female Beorling would use cannot be drawn by even 5 human men at once and thus their trade is not common. Being a member of the Pact they share all their knowledge and creations with the other Pact races, they prefer interacting with Pact races as those have been deemed worthy to survive.

Religion

Beorlings don't possess religion or anything of the liking and they don't understand it when other races rely on it. For Beorlings only nature and strength are true values and anyone relying on another force to stay alive is considered weak.

Habitat

Beorlings live in the Pact cities and fortresses and don't have any settlements on their own anymore.
